GSM’s 25th Annual Golf Invitational – THANK YOU!!

Posted on July 23rd, 2021

7/23/21

Thank you so much for your support of GSM’s 25th Annual Golf Invitational! It was a wonderful day and it was so good to finally get together to celebrate 25 years of support to the Manor AND GSM’s 50th Anniversary!

There are so many unknowns when an event is rescheduled, especially when you are at the mercy of the weather, but we were very fortunate that all of you rearranged foursomes or schedules and helped make the outing such a successful event! Expenses are still being tallied, but we are looking at one of the most successful outings in over 5 years.

THANK YOU to everyone that golfed, sponsored, purchased raffle prize tickets, donated prizes, attended dinner, bid in the auction, or volunteered! A BIG thanks to our golf committee: Ed Walsh, Jim Sullivan, Jim Neswold and Mike Locascio for your leadership and commitment. We could not have done it without all of you!

We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did. We look forward to seeing you next summer on the course!

Thank you for your understanding!

—————————————————————————————————————

Hello GSM Golfers! With just two weeks until  GSM’s 25th Annual Golf Invitational we are excited to share that we have 129 golfers registered! If you can’t golf but would still like to join us for dinner, you can register for a dinner only option on the registration site.

We have a few updates to share with everyone. Golfers will be notified of their hole assignments at registration which opens at 10:30 a.m. Just a reminder that box lunches and golfer gifts will be available to enjoy prior to the Shot-Gun start at 12:00 p.m. or taken with you on your golf cart.

The boxed lunches are all ordered and will include a TURKEY SANDWICH (honey roasted turkey breast, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onions & garlic herb aioli on a hoagie roll) OR a BEEF BRISKET SANDWICH (hickory & oak smoked beef brisket, pickled vegetables & house BBQ sauce on a brioche roll).

All box lunches include: uglies chips, pasta salad, coleslaw, brownie, soda or water, cutlery kit with napkin.

“ALL DAY” AUCTION

For the first time this year, we will be holding a virtual auction for any golfer AND those who can’t join us in person but would like to participate. We have FOUR fantastic items up for auction. The auction will open at 6 a.m. June 28th and will close at 5:30 p.m. Click here and then click on PREVIEW to register to bid (it’s FREE) and then you can start your bids anytime on the 28th. Registration is super simple and can be done in minutes! Everything is done through your phone, tablet or computer. A text will be sent to inform anyone who is outbid on an item and bids can be increased with the touch of a button. It’s that easy! In the spirit of friendly competition, by clicking on “Bid History” within each item, you can view who is bidding on specific items!

GAMES & PRIZES

There will be an opportunity to purchase cash raffle and prize raffle tickets at registration before golf and during the one-hour open bar after golf, before dinner.

The Hole-in-One (Hole 7) prize is a NEW CAR with a two year lease (details to come) from Hove Buick.

The Putting Challenge is $5 per putt. Closest to the pin (or in the hole) will win a $200 Dick’s gift card. There will be a putting shoot-out with any tie.

The Bucket of Balls is always a crowd favorite. On Hole #10, it will be $5 to participate; golfers donate a golf ball with their name written on it and drop it into the bucket for this 50/50 contest. After everyone has finished golfing, the bucket of balls will be “dumped” at the practice putting green. The closest to the pin or in the hole will win half of the amount raised.

There will be additional games such as the Money Hole and the chance to buy Mulligans (certain holes excluded): $5 per chip or 3 chips for $10.

Finally, Foursome Photos will take place on Hole #18 and will be available before dinner.

If you have any questions please call Jan, 815-472-3700 ext. 1012.

We look forward to seeing you on the course!
