Fall Festival Parent/Guardian Information
PARENT/GUARDIAN INFORMATION:
35th Annual Fall Festival
Saturday, September 12, 2026
10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Important times:
The Resident Revue will begin at approximately 11:00 a.m.
GSM staff and residents will leave the Festival grounds at 2:30 p.m.
If your family member will be leaving with GSM staff, please return him to the Resident Meeting Site before 2:30 p.m.
Residents returning directly to their group homes may do so after 4:15 p.m.
Meeting your family member:
The Resident Meeting Site will be located inside the large dining tent. Residents may attend the Festival only when accompanied by a family chaperone or GSM staff. Please speak directly with a staff member before taking your family member from the area or returning him. Residents should never be left unattended in the tent.
Food and dietary guidelines:
Each resident will receive $10 in food/activity tickets, primarily for lunch. Family chaperones are responsible for supervising food choices while a resident is in their care. Residents will wear purple wristbands and may only be served food when accompanied by a family member or staff member. This helps ensure all prescribed dietary and safety requirements are followed.
Alcohol policy:
Residents may consume beer or hard seltzers only when accompanied by their legal guardian. Residents with GSM staff may have non-alcoholic beverages only.
Taking your family member home:
Please notify the Supervisor on Duty in advance if:
Your family member will be with you before the Festival.
You plan to take him home after the Festival.
You will not be attending the Festival.
If your family member will be going home with you, medications and clothing must be picked up from his group home before 10:00 a.m. or after 4:15 p.m. Staff cannot return to the group homes during the Festival, so please plan accordingly.
If your plans change, please notify the Supervisor on Duty as soon as possible.
