Supporting the Work of Good Shepherd Manor
There's always a way to help…
Making the most cost effective gift is easy when you are familiar with the tax advantages of giving certain assets as compared to others. There are numerous opportunities for giving to the ongoing ministry of caring for God's special sons with developmental disabilities at Good Shepherd Manor.
Become a Volunteer!
You will be giving your most precious gift---your time---to work with residents in a classroom setting, workshop setting, on an outing, or through one of our fundraisers. Volunteers work with residents and staff cooperatively to make it a more enriching experience for all. View/Print out volunteer form.
Support a Fundraiser!
Individual donations and corporate sponsorship, in-kind donations and volunteers for fundraising events play an important role in the success of the following calendar of events held to benefit Good Shepherd Manor. Please view our Fundraisers and Events...
Making Financial Contributions
Cash Gifts are the most popular type because they are simple to make, immediately effective and easily earmarked for the current needs of Good Shepherd Manor.
VISA or MasterCard One-Time or Re-occurring Donations: Donating to GOOD SHEPHERD MANOR has never been easier. Now you can make on-going or one-time donations using your credit card. Simply complete the authorization information requested, mail it to us, and let our business office do the rest. Your donation will appear on your monthly credit card statements. Click here for the form.
Memorial Gifts in lieu of flowers or Living Memorial Gifts, such as a Group Home named in memory of or in honor of someone special.
Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds which have risen in value since their purchase make attractive gift vehicles. Real estate purchased years earlier and has since risen in value is another option. Rather than dip into your current cash flow to make a substantial gift, you may find it in your best interest to give the land. Personal Property such as art work, antiques and collections of all types may be a charitable tax deduction. Life Income gifts may allow you a current income tax deduction for a future gift. In Making a Will you can help to ensure the continuity of the Manor and its quality of life for the developmentally disabled by either an outright or contingent bequest in your Will.
The value of a paid up Life Insurance policy that you give to the Manor is deductible for income tax purposes. Any premiums you pay on the policy are also deductible if the Manor is the policy owner. Endowment policies about to mature offer tax savings. Trust funds have significant advantages which benefit both the Manor and you as the donor.
We invite you to be a part of our future by discovering the opportunities that fit your interests and objectives. Gifts to the Manor should be made payable to Good Shepherd Manor, Inc. We advise you to discuss the various opportunities with your attorney, accountant, insurance agent and/or trust officer to see which option benefits you and the Manor.

A Tribute to Someone Dear:
Good Shepherd Manor's Naming Opportunities
Through naming opportunities, supporters of Good Shepherd Manor make major donations to honor or remember a loved one by naming a building or area for them. Today, many areas of the campus display such names. A number of group homes, roads and facilities on campus are named for the loved one of a major donor.
In the past year, several donors have come forward to provide financial support for Good Shepherd's new Infirmary. Naming opportunities continue to be available for the infirmary and for the group home for our residents with symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease. These contributions will enable portions of the new facilities to be named by those who have made major gifts toward the completion of these projects. Below is a listing of current naming opportunities associated with the new construction.
Please consider creating a permanent remembrance of your loved one by contributing to one of the areas below. Contact Good Shepherd Manor President, Bruce Fitzpatrick, at (815) 472-3700, extension 310, or Amy DeHaan, Public Relations Director at (815) 472-3700, extension 332 for more information.
